AURORA, Colo. -- A cat stuck on a pole in Aurora for two days was rescued by its human minions Wednesday evening. Xcel Energy crews got the cat down safely from the pole just as a powerful winter storm moved in.
Xcel crews initially said a rescue attempt would be too dangerous since the pole the cat was stuck on was a high-voltage line. Apparently, the company had a change of heart Wednesday evening.
Nick Roman works in the area of East Colfax Avenue and Chambers Road and heard the cat meowing Monday. He contacted Aurora Animal Control and was told there was nothing they could do. He was concerned the cat would starve to death or succumb to the bitter cold temperatures.
