Denver City Council will be passing a proclamation to declare November as Diabetes Awareness Month. The proclamation will be led by Congresswoman Kendra Black.
2. Denver City Council honors lives lost to anti-transgender violence
The Denver City Council will consider a proclamation to solemnly declare the following Monday as Transgender Day of Remembrance. This would be the first known Council recognition of this national day, which honors the memory of those whose lives were lost in acts of anti-transgender violence.
3. Hundreds dead in Middle East quake
More than 340 people are dead following a 7.3 magnitude earthquake that rattled Iraq and Iran. Western Iran was hit the hardest, with injuries numbering in the thousands.
