Castle Rock star goes orange & blue

CASTLE ROCK, Colo. - The Castle Rock star is now showing its Broncos Pride.

Tuesday, two firefighters volunteered their time to change all the clear light bulbs to blue and orange light bulbs. When the star was lit on Tuesday night, half the star was orange and half the star was blue.

The star has been on the rock formation above Castle Rock for more than 60 years, according to CastleRockCulture.com.

The website says the 45-foot high electric star is lit from the week before Thanksgiving until the end of the National Western Stock Show.

Lt. Matt Rettmer and volunteer Tammy Denhard of Castle Rock Fire and Rescue are the firefighters who volunteer their time to change and maintain the bulbs.
