LOVELAND, Colo. – A two-alarm house fire in Loveland started when a driver crashed into the home and hit a gas meter, firefighters said Wednesday morning.

Fire crews responded to the home on Hopkins Court around 8 a.m. and quickly called out a second alarm for more resources as the fire spread to the home’s attic.

Everyone inside the home and the car were able to get out safely, firefighters said. The driver, a 35-year-old Greeley woman, appeared to have some sort of medical emergency that caused her to drive off the road and into the house.

She was transported to the hospital for assessment; an update on her condition wasn’t available Wednesday morning. Firefighters said it did not appear that alcohol or drugs were involved.
