DENVER -- Looking for a job? A career fair in Denver this weekend promises jobs in a major "growth" industry.

"Currently in the cannabis industry there are 122,000 people employed and between now and 2020 it’s going to get up to 250,000 jobs," says Karson Humiston, Founder of Vangst, which recruits for the cannabis industry.

Humiston says the industry employs a variety of skill sets. There are the pot professionals like chemists and horticulturists. But there are also jobs in sales, management, accounting, and recruiting.

"The jobs do pay well, most of the jobs pay in line with what other industries are paying and a lot of times there’s a bonus based on company growth," says Humiston.

She says with more states legalizing recreational marijuana, the industry and companies are growing. A person who gets in at the ground level could have a promising future.

"Many of our clients in Denver are very interested in promoting from within, so someone who might start as an entry level sales person, two years down the line may be one of the more experienced people in the company," she says.

The Colorado Cannabis Career Summit is Sunday July 16th from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Mile High Station, 2027 Old West Colfax in Denver.
