Cab driver carjacked in Denver Sunday morning; suspect in custody

DENVER - A customer carjacked a cab driver early Sunday morning and took off in the taxi.

It happened at about 1:10 a.m. at W. 44th Ave. and Tejon St., according to Sgt. Steve Warneke with the Denver Police Department.

Police found the cab and the suspect about a mile away, at W. 48th Ave. and Shoshone St.

Curt Glinton, 24, was taken into custody. Glinton is being held at the Downtown Detention Center on $50,000 bond, according to public records.

He is facing charges of robbery and second degree assault.

Investigators called it a "strong-arm carjacking," and said no weapons were used.

Glinton and the cab driver both had minor injuries.
