Basement windows are being targeted by burglars, but there may be ways to deter those crooks.
Those window wells may be vulnerable because they are unprotected or because of their locations
"Your neighbors don't see people in your backyard or in the area where your window wells are," said Karen Larson, showroom manager with Liberty Home Products.
Her business sells window well covers to provide an extra layer to deter thieves and make it more difficult to break in.
"I get a lot of people, even in highlands ranch, that are suffering break-ins," she said.
