Broncos remind fans: Only clear bags allowed into stadium
New NFL bag policy goes into effect

DENVER - Broncos officials are reminding fans of the new NFL bag policy, three days before the first home, pre-season game.
The policy requires fans carry a clear, plastic 12 x 6 x 12 bag or plastic disposable bag. Clutches or hand-sized purses are still allowed. The NFL adopted the policy after last season, in part because of the bombing at the Boston Marathon. Stadium General Manager Andy Gorchov told 7NEWS the purpose is to improve overall safety.
"You have 75,000 fans that are going to be filling the stadium and when you think about sort of just a person by person basis, just by limiting the amount of things that every individual is able to bring and making it easier for security screenings to take place. It really results in greater improvement in overall safety of stadium," Gorchov said.
Officials plan to have extra staff on hand Saturday to help alert people to the changes prior to getting to security lines.
"We're really going to extend the perimeter of the stadium out further with the goal of identifying anybody that might be bringing a bag that's not allowed and letting them know so they can get it back to their car," said Gorchov.
There will also be four bag checks outside the stadium for the first several games to accommodate those who are unaware of the new policy. Gorchov said they purchased roughly 100,000 disposable bags to hand out to people for the first two games.
