DENVER – Multiple jurisdictions are investigating after a young child was rushed to the hospital with traumatic injuries Thursday.

Denver Police say the mother of the child called 911 from the parking lot of Doull Elementary around 5 p.m. Paramedics arrived outside the school and found the boy suffering from traumatic injuries on his body, including his throat. The school is located at 2520 South Utica Street in Denver.

The boy was rushed to Denver Health where he is being treated for his injuries. However, the full extent of those injuries is unknown. His condition has not been released.

It’s not clear if the injuries were the result of an accident or something else. Denver officers were seen canvassing the neighborhood and knocking on doors. School officials were also seen pointing to surveillance cameras that overlook the school parking lot.

Police told Denver7 they don’t know if anything happened outside the school. They said they are looking at a couple of possible "crime scenes," which includes a location in Jefferson County.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is assisting in the investigation.

No other information concerning the investigation was immediately available.
