Boy dies during altercation at Thornton home

THORNTON, Colo. - Police in Thornton are investigating the death of a juvenile male during an altercation with other juveniles early Saturday.

At 1:45 a.m., police were called to the 4200 block of East 100th Avenue on a report of a male with a serious injury to his throat.

Officers were able to determine that there had been an altercation between juvenile males and one juvenile male was seriously injured at the scene. He was later pronounced dead from the injuries sustained to his throat.  No information was released as to the type of injury or his age.

The other juvenile males associated with the altercation had left the scene prior to officers arriving.

During the course of the investigation, two juvenile males were detained for questioning in connection to the incident.   Police said they would not release additional information immediately so as not to impede the ongoing investigation.
