Boulder Startup Week: Here are 10 events to check out

BOULDER, Colo. – Boulder Startup Week kicks off Monday with more than 200 events geared toward entrepreneurs and others in Boulder’s robust and ever-growing startup scene.

From workshops and lectures to social events and even boxing, many of the events promise to be interesting, informative and entertaining, even if you’re not in business and tech.

Here are 10 events worth checking out:

Monday:

How We Won: Tales From Successful Enterprise Entrepreneurs – 1:00 p.m. at Riverside, 1724 Broadway
Hear directly from a number of local successful entrepreneurs about what it takes to build a strong business.

Canopy Demo Day – 7:00 p.m. at Boulder Theatre, 2032 14th St.
Learn more about the cohort of 10 marijuana-related companies that have gone through Canopy’s four-month business accelerator program.

Tuesday:

Virtual Reality – The future is bits, not atoms – 9:00 a.m. at Galvanize, 1023 Walnut St.
Hear from several people working in the virtual reality field and see what the rapidly-developing technology can do to transform the world around us.

The Wage Gap: A Productive Discussion on Solutions – 11:00 a.m. at Galvanize, 1023 Walnut St.
Women continue to earn less than men for the same work and this event aims to have a “positive and productive” conversation about how to close the wage gap.

The Future of Marketing: How AI will affect the industry – 5:00 p.m. at Boulder Library, 1001 Arapahoe Ave.
Artificial Intelligence keeps getting smarter. How will increased personalization and customization change the way companies market their services and products?

Wednesday:

Brain Crawl – 3:30 p.m. at eTown, 1535 Spruce St.
This event is like a bar crawl, but the focus is on mental health, with several expert speakers.

Thursday:

Boulder Startup Week Job Fair – 11:30 a.m. at Boulder Theatre, 2032 14th St.
Connect with more than 30 local companies looking to make some new hires.

Friday:

Why Does Boulder Have So Many Breweries? – 2:00 p.m. at Rayback Collective, 2775 Valmont Rd.
Hear from Bart Watson, Chief Economist for the Brewers Association, about the craft brewing industry, market trends and forecasts with a focus on Boulder.

Shark Tank Edu – 5:00 p.m. at Bohemian Biergarten, 2017 13th St.
Much like the ‘Shark Tank’ TV show, this event will feature entrepreneurs pitching their ideas to a panel of judges.

Founder Fights – 7:00 p.m. at Boulder House, 1109 Walnut St.
At this event, startup founders will literally duke it out in the boxing ring, while raising money for a good cause.
