Boulder man rescued after falling about 50 feet in Eldorado Canyon State Park Sunday afternoon

BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. - A Boulder man had to be rescued after falling about 50 feet in Eldorado Canyon State Park Sunday afternoon.

The 42-year-old man was descending the West Ridge Wall when he fell, the Boulder County Sheriff's Office reported.

Members of his climbing party were able to call for help and Rocky Mountain Fire and the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group began the technical rescue at about 4:50 p.m., officials said.

The man was carried to an ambulance and airlifted to Saint Anthony’s Hospital with serious injuries shortly after 8 p.m., according to the sheriff's office.
