BOULDER, Colo. -
The city of Boulder is considering a proposal to ban smoking along the four blocks of the Pearl Street Mall and on the Boulder County courthouse lawn.
An open house to give the public more details is scheduled Wednesday evening.
The city says the proposal was crafted in response to complaints from tourists, downtown employees, restaurant owners and retail businesses about cigarette-butt litter and secondhand smoke.
The City Council is scheduled to consider an ordinance in October.
