WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. - Bond was set at $50,000 Monday for hit-and-run suspect Alton Kirkland, who allegedly ran away after crashing into two vehicles and killing one person.
Kirkland, 23, was allegedly speeding down the street with a woman and two children in his car when he hit the two vehicles and then got out and ran away. The women and children were taken to the hospital but have since been released.
Jordan Sprouse, 18, was killed in the crash at West 32nd Avenue and Kipling Street Friday night, his family confirmed.
Details released in court during the Monday hearing allege that citizens helped chase Kirkland down after he fled the crash.
The judge said he was "extremely concerned" about this case.
