BOULDER, Colo. - A woman running the BolderBoulder got a surprise proposal at the finish line.
Stephanie Burnes, of Aurora, had just finished running the BolderBOULDER when she spotted her boyfriend. She hugged him, then bent over to catch her breath, not noticing the sign in his hand.
Seconds later, he got down on one knee, opened a ring box and turned the white sign board around to reveal the words, "Will you marry me?"
"We have our very first BoulderBOULDER marriage proposal going on right now," one of the stadium announcers told the crowd from the finish line area.
"I said you're my best friend and we've been going for years and I just asked if she'd marry me," Jeremy said.
She said yes!
Then everyone in the stadium watched as he put the ring on her finger and got a hug.
"Congratulations to Jeremy and Stephanie on their engagement," the announcer said. "We wish them a life of love and happiness... and running."
