Body of fallen climber recovered from RMNP

Victim identified as Corey Stewart

ESTES PARK, Colo. - The body of a 22-year-old student at Colorado State University was recovered Friday after a fall in Rocky Mountain National Park.

Corey Stewart fell just after noon Thursday while climbing Batman Pinnacle on Lumpy Ridge, a popular rock climbing area in the park.

Rangers said he fell about 30 feet and sustained fatal injuries.  Efforts to revive him by CPR at the scene were not successful.

Storm weather delayed recovery of Stewart's body until Friday morning.  Rangers remained with the body overnight on the mountain.

Stewart is originally from Newton, N.J.   Colorado State University lists Stewart as a sophomore in the Warner College of Natural Resources.
