Boat used for sonar training at Highline Lake State Park is found when lake drained

LOMA, Colo. - Colorado state park rangers have found a missing boat at Highline Lake State Park west of Grand Junction while draining the lake to clean up sediment.

According to KJCT-TV, the small boat was sunk years ago by a park ranger to teach rescuers how to use sonar to find missing items on the lake bottom. Ironically, over time, the exact location of the boat was forgotten.

Officials say now that the boat has been found, they'll once again use it for sonar training once the lake is refilled.
