Bike path through Genesee Park completes 'off-I-70' trail

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. – A new bike path through Genesee Park opened Wednesday after nearly a year of construction.

The Interstate 70 Bike Path spans 2.4 miles and completes the trail system running along I-70 from Denver to near Glenwood Springs.

Cyclists used to have to use the right shoulder of the interstate between the park and Evergreen Parkway.

The $2.4 million project was put together by the Colorado Department of Transportation, Jefferson County, the City of Denver, the Denver Mountain Parks Foundation and other organizations.
