Bank robber caught on camera with money; Robbed Vectra Bank in Westminster

WESTMINSTER, Colo. - Westminster Police are asking for the public's help to identify a bank robbery who got away with stacks of money.

Security cameras in the bank captured pictures of the robber holding money in the bank's vault and putting some of it in his jacket.

The man walked into the Vectra Bank on W. 120th Ave. on Saturday at 9:20 a.m.

Police said he was armed with a black handgun that can be seen in at least one of the bank's security camera photos.

Fortunately, no shots were fired and no one was hurt.

Three of the surveillance photos released by police are seen above.

Police said the man left the bank on foot and tried to carjack a driver nearby, but was unsuccessful and ran off.

Investigators said the man is considered to be armed and dangerous and no one should approach him. 

"Dial 911 immediately," police said.
