Missing baby from Beloit, Wisconsin found; step-aunt Kristin Smith arrested on unrelated charges

BELOIT, Wisconsin - A baby kidnapped in Wisconsin Thursday was found alive in a tote bag at a gas station in Iowa, according to CBS58.com.

The infant's step-aunt, Kristin Smith of Colorado, was arrested in Iowa on an unrelated warrant, police said.

Authorities said the baby's mother called 911 about 4:30 a.m. Thursday after waking up and finding the 6-day-old child, Kayden Powell, missing from his bassinet.

The boy's grandmother said her daughter planned to move to Colorado with Smith. Smith is the baby's step-aunt.

Police said there were baby clothes in Smith's car, but no baby.
