DENVER - Officials have identified the teenager shot and killed in a drive-by shooting at 3:50 a.m. on Saturday.
The Denver Office of the Medical Examiner said 15-year-old Demetrius Paul Cruz was shot in the back on Sheridan Boulevard between Dartmouth and Bates Street in Denver.
Cruz was taken to the hospital, but he did not respond to treatment and died, officials said.
Denver Police spokeswoman Raquel Lopez said a white vehicle is believed to be involved in the shooting and was seen rushing away from the area before officers arrived. Anyone with information about the shooting or the white vehicle is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP (7867).
