AURORA, Colo. - Aurora police are looking for the driver involved in a hit and run on East Colfax Avenue Saturday night.
A man crossing Colfax was hit just east of Jamaica Street at about 11:30, Aurora Police Lt. Jeff Turner confirmed Sunday.
Two people spotted the man lying in the street and flagged down a police officer. The pair did not see the accident happen, Turner said.
The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital and is in fair condition, according to Turner.
Investigators are asking anyone who saw this accident to call Aurora Police at 303-627-3100.
An older brown or maroon Suburban type vehicle was seen leaving the area but it is unknown if that vehicle was involved, Turner said.
Investigators suspect the pedestrian was intoxicated.
It is an uncontrolled intersection with intermittent lighting that may have contributed to the accident, Turner said.
