AURORA, Colo. – A man is fighting for his life following a shooting at an Aurora auto repair shop Tuesday afternoon.

The shooting occurred around 2:45 p.m. at Shaus Motorsports at 15551 East 6th Avenue in Aurora.

According to Aurora Police, officers arrived at the business to find the victim unresponsive and immediately began performing life-saving measures at the scene in an attempt to stabilize him.

Paramedics rushed him to the hospital, where he is currently listed in critical condition.

It's unknown at this time if the victim is a customer or an employee of Shaus Motorsports. His identity has not been released.

Police declined to comment whether or not an arrest was made or if a suspect has been identified. Police say the incident appears to be isolated, and there is no threat to the public.

The shooting remains under investigation. Aerial footage from AIRTRACKER7 showed crime tape covering the front entrance of the business.

As a precaution, authorities briefly placed nearby Hinkley High School on lock out status, but they later lifted that restriction.

Tuesday's incident is the city's second daylight shooting in a week. A woman driving her car near the intersection of South Havana Street and East Mississippi Avenue last Monday was shot to death by another driver.

Police have not released a possible motive in the fatal shooting and are still looking for the suspect(s).
