Aurora firefighters investigate possible hazmat situation at post office

Aurora PD: 'Does not appear to be hazardous'

AURORA, Colo. - Aurora firefighters are investigating a possible hazmat situation near E. 19th Ave. and N. Victor St. That is a few blocks north west of Interstate 225 and E. Colfax Ave.

Several fire trucks were at the scene at 7 a.m. and police cars had the entrance to the post office blocked.

"An unknown white substance was found in an envelope. It does not appear to be hazardous," the Aurora Police Department said at 7:45 a.m.

"Incident on Victor St. is mitigated," the Aurora Fire Department tweeted at 7:50 a.m. "FBI will be handling."
