Arsonist blamed for 7 grass fires Monday on 44th Avenue in Golden

GOLDEN, Colo. - The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is looking for an arsonist who started several small fires on West 44th Avenue in Golden on Monday.

Firefighters found seven grass fires burning along a two-mile stretch of road near Mount Olivet Cemetery and Fairmount Reservoir.

The fires were started between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m., according to the Sheriff's Office.

Firefighters from Golden Fire, Fairmount Fire and Pleasant View Fire were called it to keep the fire from spreading.

Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area, or has information regarding these fires, is asked to call the Jeffco Sheriff’s Office tip line at 303-271-5612.
