COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - A small fire forced the evacuation of Evans Elementary School near Colorado Springs.
Smoke quickly filled the school Tuesday while fire crews and school staff evacuated the students, according to the Colorado Springs Gazette.
Dustin Senger with Falcon District 49 said the 700 students at the school were taken to the field house at Sand Creek High School, then released to their parents and guardians.
El Paso County Sheriff's Office spokesman Lt. Jeff Kramer said a student at the school is a suspect, but no charges have been filed.
