Police are search for man suspected of stabbing a woman multiple times at Howard Johnson hotel in the area of West 44th Avenue and Tabor Street.

An arrest warrant was issued for 43-year-old Andrew Dean Howton on Friday.

Police say he is the man seen on security footage checking into the hotel on Wednesday Feb. 3, 2016 and exiting at 6:59 AM on Thursday Feb. 4, 2016.

A 30-year-old woman was found stabbed multiple times outside the hotel shortly before 7 a.m. on Thursday.

She was still in critical condition, according to Maureen Harper, spokesperson for the Wheat Ridge Police Department.

Howton was a person of interest until Friday when a warrant was issued for his arrest. The charge is attempted first-degree murder and bond was set at $500,000.

"Given the violent nature of the crime, please use caution if you believe you see Howton and contact law enforcement immediately,"  said Harper in a press release.
