CASTLE ROCK, Colo. - A Douglas County High School teacher has been arrested for sexual exploitation of a child and sources tell the CALL7 Investigators it is related to the arrest of a deputy for similar charges.
A warrant was issued for Timothy Martini, 26, of Castle Rock, Tuesday and he was arrested without incident. Sgt. Ron Hanavan, a spokesman for the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, said the Special Victims Unit began to investigate Martini earlier this month.
Martini faces two counts of sexual exploitation of a child and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He is being held on a $50,000 bond.
An anonymous source told the CALL7 Investigators that Martini's arrest is related to the arrest of Deputy Robert "Mike" French on Feb. 8.
"There is a common investigation, but the Martini case is a separate case," Hanavan said when to asked to confirm.
Hanavan told 7NEWS Deputy French was taken into custody after a week of investigation into accusations against him. On Feb. 11, French was fired by the Douglas County Sheriff's office for "department policy violations and alleged criminal conduct."
French has posted $50,000 bond for his two charges of sexual exploitation of a child.
