Christopher Jones facing felony charges

FORT COLLINS, Colo. -

Police have arrested a suspect in an armed robbery in Fort Collins where the robber beat three people with a metal pipe.

Police said 28-year-old Christopher Wayne Jones was arrested at 4 p.m. after he voluntarily came to the police station for an interview at 8:30 Wednesday morning.

Jones is being held for investigation for aggravated robbery, first-degree assault, first-degree burglary and theft -- all felonies.

Police said the man entered the One-Stop gas station, 2025 S. College Ave., on Oct. 18 and beat two men and a woman with a pipe before fleeing on foot.

"Valuable tips from the community coupled with investigative work identified Jones as the suspect," said Rita Davis, Fort Collins police. "Police believe Jones acted independently and do not believe anyone else was involved in the robbery."
