Armed kidnapping reported at University of Colorado Boulder; police ask for public's help

BOULDER, Colo. - A report of an armed kidnapping on the University of Colorado Boulder campus has police asking for help from the public.
A CU student called campus police Monday night to report a possible kidnapping near the Benson Earth Sciences Building.
The witness told police he saw a white man in a dark-colored hoodie get out of a car and point what appeared to be a handgun at a black man at about 9:15 p.m.
Both men got into the back seat of the car and then it sped off to the east on Colorado Avenue past Folsom Street, the witness told police.
Campus police sent an email alert to students, faculty and staff shortly after 11 p.m. Monday, asking for assistance.
The department says officers will continue to investigate this incident.
