LAKEWOOD, Colo. - More than 100 people protested outside the Walmart Supercenter in Lakewood on Black Friday.
The protest was organized by the local United Food and Commercial Workers International Union.
UFCW groups across the country encouraged Walmart workers to go on strike on Black Friday. In turn, Walmart filed an unfair labor practice charge with the National Labor Relations Board against the union.
In Lakewood, it appeared most of the protesters were community and union members and not Walmart employees.
"Colorado workers, neighbors, shoppers, and community leaders are holding a rally and other actions to show their solidarity for Walmart workers across the country," said a news release from a group calling itself Making Change at Walmart.
