Amber Alert canceled: 3-year-old Luke Turner found safe, father Monty Turner arrested in Canada

Suspect's father arrested as an accessory

LONGMONT, Colo. - The Amber Alert for 3-year-old Luke Turner was canceled Sunday after the boy was found safe, the Colorado Bureau of Investigations confirmed.

His father was arrested in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada, the Longmont Times Call reported.

An Amber Alert was issued for the boy Saturday after Monty Turner allegedly kicked in the door to the boy's mother's home at 724 Eldora Place about 10:00 a.m.

Monty Turner pepper-sprayed the boy's mother and shocked her with a stun gun, said Longmont Police Cmdr. Jeff Satur.

Late Saturday, Longmont police said they believe Monty and Luke Turner were in a 1999 white, 4-door Chrysler 300 with Colorado license plates. The car was found in Missouri Saturday night, Longmont police said.

The Missouri State Patrol stopped the Chrysler overnight but the only person in the car was Monty Turner's father, Ronald Turner, Longmont police confirmed. Ronald Turner was arrested as an accessory.
