DENVER - The headline of the Denver District Attorney’s Monday press release doesn’t do these allegations justice.
“Dirty shorts lead to burglary charges,” the line reads.
Rodney Mark Hendrix, 49, is now in police custody because of his DNA, officials say. He’s charged with burglarizing a Denver pre-school and church in August 2014.
Hendrix allegedly stole guitars and electronics. He left behind a pair of shorts with fecal matter before leaving the scene of the crime, according to investigators. Test results show the DNA found on the shorts matches Hendrix’s.
The suspect is already in custody of the Colorado Department of Corrections on unrelated theft and drug cases. He’s now charged with two counts of burglary and theft, and one count of identity theft.
