DENVER – Good morning! Here’s what you need to know today, Friday, Oct. 27.

1. Denver Police Dept. welcomes 37 new officers
The City of Denver will welcome 37 new recruits to the Denver Police Department during a graduate ceremony at 10 a.m. Several city leaders will be in attendance.

2. Affordable housing opens in Greeley
A new, three-story apartment complex will have its ribbon cutting ceremony in Greeley. The Guadalupe Apartments will serve as an example of how Colorado cities are coming together to work on solutions for our volatile housing market.

3. Macy's is hiring for the holidays in the metro area, so come apply! 
Macy's is hiring full-time and part-time associates to serve customers' Christmas and holiday shopping needs, and if you're looking for a job all you have to do is show up and apply at any Macy's location from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. today.

4. MileHiCon celebrates everything sci-fi, fantasy and horror
The 49th annual MileHiCon will showcase over 100 authors, artists and other speakers specializing in science fiction/fantasy and horror at the Hyatt Regency Denver Tech Center starting today until Sunday.

5. The big Colorado cool down continues
A strong front that moved through Colorado Thursday is leaving us, but not without one last kiss. This morning, the metro area is waking up to lows near 20 degrees but skies will clear and temperatures will be in the low to mid 40s by this afternoon.
