ELBERT COUNTY, Colo. - An admitted sex offender was sentenced to five years of probation after pleading guilty to crimes resulting in a teenager's pregnancy.
Guy Shepheard, 36, was arrested by Elbert County deputies on Feb. 21, 2013. According to court records and the Sheriff's Office, the initial accusations included sexual assault and sexual exploitation of a child involving over twenty videos.
Nearly a year later, Shepheard pleaded guilty to sexual contact and invasion of privacy. He was sentenced on Feb. 11 of this year to five years of probation. The judge also imposed restrictions on his Internet use and contact with children under 18 years of age.
Shepheard will also be required to register as a sex offender.
Colorado court records show Shepheard was arrested for three counts of a sexual assault involving an age difference of 10 years in August of 2012. Those charges were dismissed by the District Attorney about a month after he was arrested in 2013.
