Adams County Sheriff's Office deputy Henry Ford arrested in sex assault case, bond set at $100,000

ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. - Bond was set Friday at $100,000 for an Adams County Sheriff's deputy arrested on allegations of sexual assault on a child.

In court, the judge indicated that the victim is a young teenage girl.

Officials said the investigation began Wednesday and led the Sheriff's Office to arrest Henry Ford, a deputy in the Jail Division.

Ford is facing three charges, all felonies: sex assault on a child, sex assault on a child with a pattern of abuse and sex assault on a child by person in position of trust.

"I don't think it’s a black eye for the agency and here's why: We have a responsibility to clean our own house," Sheriff Doug Darr said in a press conference after Friday's hearing.

"We have a responsibility to be honest about it and that's what we're going to do," he added.

The investigation began Wednesday and Darr said the deputy was never put on leave before the arrest was made.

"The reason it [the arrest] happened quickly is because our detectives were working on it quickly," Darr said.

Ford has been employed by the Adam's County Sheriff's office since 2006.
