Adams County announces free flood debris removal for qualified residents
Residents must have registered losses with FEMA
Last Updated: 70 days ago
BRIGHTON, Colo. - Adams County has put up a flood debris collection hotline to help qualified residents remove flood-damaged materials from properties impacted by recent flooding.
Residents of unincorporated areas of the county who have registered their losses with FEMA can call 720-523-6888 to schedule a free curbside collection from their affected property. Adams County will remove flood debris of all types, including yard waste, household goods, and construction materials.
Residents who schedule an appointment by calling the hotline are asked to stack their debris at the curb in front of their property, but without blocking the sidewalk or street.
While the hotline is only answered during normal business hours, after-hour callers who leave a voicemail with their personal information will receive a return call the following business day.
The free debris removal service will be available through the end of this year.
All Adams County residents who have flood damage are reminded to register their losses with FEMA -- regardless of whether they have insurance -- by calling 800-621-3362 or visiting www.disasterassistance.gov. For additional flood-related resources in Adams County, visit www.adcogov.org.
