A chilling 911 call depicts the desperate moments as a mother watched her daughter die.

Family members say 28-year-old Mireya Ramirez died over the weekend and that the mother-of-four was stabbed to death by her boyfriend. Police haven't named the suspect, who they shot and killed.

June Lee Simpson told Denver7 she grabbed the knife from the man and punched him. He ran to the kitchen for more knives. Ramirez then ran from the house but the man, known as Romero to the family, went after Ramirez again, her mother says. Simpson says the man stabbed her, as well.

In the call, Simpson is frantic.

--Ma'am, is there somewhere you can go to get away from him?

--No, we're trying to get to the neighbor's house.

Police arrived within three minutes and ordered the man to drop the knife.

--Shoot him! Shoot him!
