9 hurt, 4 hospitalized in Devonshire Square Apartment complex fire in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Nine people were injured in a 3-alarm apartment fire in Colorado Springs Wednesday.

The fire at Devonshire Square apartments on Uintah Street and North Circle Drive started around 10 a.m.

The Colorado Springs Fire Department tweeted that firefighters treated nine people at the scene. Four of them had to be taken to a local hospital.

Fire Chief Christopher Riley says two of the victims were rescued from a second-story window.

According to the Colorado Springs Gazette, two apartments were damaged by the fire and smoke damage was extensive in other units.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
