Dia de los Muertos

Celebrate the Day of the Dead with a sugar skull workshop, facepainting, costume contest and sunset candlelight procession.

Scandinavian Christmas Fair

What: Scandinavian holiday fair with Scandinavian imports, butikken, food, craft vendors, rosemaling. Lunch served from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

Where:  Trollheim Lodge, 6610 West 14th Avenue, Lakewood, Colo.

31st Annual Craft Fair

What: Invite your friends and family to the Arvada Community Recreation Center for some early holiday shopping.

Where: Community Recreation Center, 6842 Wadsworth Blvd., Arvada, Colo.


Friday: 6 p.m.-8:30 p.m.

Saturday: 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Admission: $2 admission or free with a donation of school supplies to help support our local student outreach.

Día de los Muertos Family Celebration

What: Come dressed in your finest “calaca” or skeleton apparel. Enjoy the live entertainment including music and dancing, sugar skull decorating, traditional food, community altars, paper flower making, Día de los Muertos face painting, Lady Catrina and more.

Where: Longmont Museum and Cultural Center, 400 Quail Road, Longmont, Colo.

Boys 2 Men Workshop – Bring Your “A” Game (Event open to Young Men from 9th-12th grade)

What: Bring your teenage boys to the Boys 2 Men Workshop where they will learn about manhood. The event is put on by the Crowley Foundation which will play the DVD “Bring Your A Game” featuring Spike Lee, Chris Rock, New Jersey Mayor Cory Booker and former NBA star Alan Houston among others. Langston University’s President Dr. Kent J. Smith will be the keynote speaker.

An Evening of American Playwrights
