A 76-year-old Greeley woman was convicted of felony menacing Wednesday for pointing a pellet gun at a neighbor during a fight over the neighbors' kids drawing on the sidewalk with chalk.
The incident occurred on Aug. 28, 2011.
Prosecutors said Joyce Bradmon was yelling at two girls who were drawing on the sidewalk next to her home when the father of one of the girls confronted her.
Bradmon pointed the unloaded gun, which looked like a Colt semi-automatic handgun, at the man. The man rushed to take cover behind his truck and called 911 because he thought the gun was real and he was in danger, prosecutors said.
The woman remained in her driveway in her wheelchair when police responded and took the gun from her.
Bradmon had a history of fights with residents throughout the neighborhood, according to police and court records.
A Weld County jury convicted her of felony menacing on Wednesday.
She will be sentenced on Oct. 25.
