DENVER -- Good morning! Here's what you need to know today, Friday July 21.

1. Press conference on plans for next month's eclipse
The National Science Foundation, National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR), and NASA will host a press conference in Boulder exactly one month before the first total solar eclipse to cross the contiguous U.S. since 1918.

2. Western Conservative Summit begins in Denver
The annual summit kicks off at the Colorado Convention Center Friday. The three-day event will feature several Republican speakers, including Sens. Cory Gardner and Tim Scott and Reps. Ken Buck and Jim Jordan, among others.

3. Active weather day again
The weather pattern will become quite active again on Friday with more heavy thunderstorms developing in the afternoon.  The slow-moving storms will produce frequent lightning and heavy rain.

4. Lone Tree road closure
The city will be closing Lincoln Avenue between Park Meadows Drive and Yosemite Street starting at 8 p.m. Friday. The closure lasts until 5 a.m. Monday.

5. German Fest kicks off
