5 Fort Carson soldiers hurt in rollover crash during training exercise

Soldiers rushed to hospitals, conditions not known

FORT CARSON, Colo. - Five Fort Carson soldiers were hurt in a rollover crash during a training exercise near Camp Red Devil Wednesday.

Fort Carson officials said ambulances and a medical helicopter transported the troops to local hospitals, but their conditions are not available.

Three soldiers were transported to Evans Army Community Hospital.  One was transported to Penrose Hospital and one to Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs.

All five soldiers are from the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division.

They were riding in a M1151 up-armored High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle when the accident happened.

The cause is under investigation.
