Five Colorado breweries are in the Top 50 U.S. craft brewing companies of 2015.

The list from the Brewers Association includes New Belgium (No. 4), Oskar Blues (No. 14), Odell Brewing (No. 32), Left Hand Brewing (No. 39) and Breckenridge Brewery (No. 47).

The breweries were named to the list based on beer sales volume.

New Belgium produced 914,063 barrels of beer in 2015 and is slated to open a $140 million brewery in Asheville, N.C., which could have the capacity to brew up to 500,000 barrels annually, according to our partners at the Denver Post.

The Top 3 U.S. craft brewers were D. G. Yuengling and Son, Inc. on Pennsylvania, the Boston Beer Co. and Sierra Nevada Brewing Co.

"With a historic record number of breweries in the U.S., the top brewers continue to open new markets and expose beer drinkers to a variety of fuller-flavored styles and offerings," said Bart Watson, chief economist, Brewers Association.
