4 former Corrections officers facing drug charges

CANON CITY, Colo. - Four former Department of Corrections officers accused of using prescription drugs at Colorado State Penitentiary in Canon City have been arrested.

 
The Pueblo Chieftain reported 26-year-old Steven Ricotta is accused of taking pills of the narcotic painkiller Percocet to the prison and sharing them with three co-workers. He is charged with felony distribution of a controlled substance, felony possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor use of a controlled substance.
 
Former correctional officers 28-year-old Jesus Romero, 29-year-old Charles Latimer and 36-year-old Mace Rebeterano have been arrested for investigation of felony possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor use of a controlled substance.
 
Deputy District Attorney Michael Pirraglia said investigators have not uncovered any evidence that inmates were given the drug.
