3 people hospitalized after fire at Franconia Apartments on 9th & Downing in Denver

DENVER - Three people were hospitalized Monday morning when a fire broke out at an apartment building in Denver.

The fire started around 1 a.m. at the Franconia Apartment at East 9th Avenue and Downing Street.

Denver Fire told 7NEWS the fire damage was contained to one unit on the second floor. However, other units have smoke and water damage.

The Fronconia Apartments provide affordable studio and one bedroom apartments for people age 62 and older or for those who have a disability.

The entire building remains evacuated because there is no power.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
