DENVER - Three Denver police officers were taken to an area hospital Tuesday for smoke inhalation after they searched a burning home for a victim.
The fire occurred just before 5 p.m. at a home on the 3600 block of S. Newland Street, just south of Hampden Avenue, according to the Denver Fire Department.
Fire officials said the three officers were searching for a person reported by witnesses to be running around inside the house when heavy smoke was spotted coming from the basement.
No one was found inside the home.
