OPHIR, Colo. - Three people were killed in a single vehicle crash in San Miguel County early Saturday morning.,
According to the sheriff's office, the vehicle was traveling south on Highway 145 near Ophir when it left the roadway, rolling several times down a steep embankment at about 2 a.m. The vehicle was occupied by three males and one female.
One of the males was able to go for help and was discovered running down the highway by a sheriff's deputy.
The remaining three occupants were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
The names of the vehicle’s occupants are being withheld at this time pending notification to the families. The accident is under investigation by the Colorado State Patrol.
