LYONS, Colo. - One of the two roads between Lyons and Estes Park will be closed on weekdays for the next two weeks.
U.S. 36 will be closed to traffic on weekdays from July 29 to August 9 to allow crews with the Colorado Department of Transportation to do road work.
CDOT said crews will be working between mile markers 18 to 19, restoring the highway to pre-flood levels.
"The road will have to be raised as much as ten feet in some places," CDOT explained.
During the closure, drivers will be detoured to Highway 7, adding about 14 miles and 20 minutes to the trip.
The highway will be open on the weekend, from 6 a.m. on Saturday, August 2 to 6 a.m. on Monday, August 4.
