2 more poison meatballs found in park in Boulder County Sunday

$4,500 reward for tips leading to conviction

BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. - Two more meatballs containing a suspected poison were found at the same park in Boulder County Sunday.

Raw meatballs were initially found the night of Monday, April 14, in a neighborhood park located at 5150 Buckingham Rd. in Gunbarrel. They contained green chunks of rat poison, according to the Boulder County Sheriff's Office. Two more were found the following day.

The sheriff’s office said it appears the meatballs found Sunday were placed during the same time as those previously found. The investigation is on-going.

Pet owners are warned to be attentive to what your animals are eating on as you walk them in the area.

At least three dogs have been treated by veterinarians after consuming the toxic meatballs.
